The Kaiser Permanente San Diego Hospital provides centralized, high quality, affordable healthcare for San Diego County. The campus includes a new 7-story, 565,000-sf, 321-bed hospital, a 3-story, 62,512-sf hospital support building (HSB), and a 3-story 38,000-sf energy center. The ‘hospital building established a new standard for Kaiser Permanent hospitals that was subsequently implemented at the Downey, San Marcos and Riverside hospitals, incorporating a steel moment frame structural system and a curtain wall system while remaining as cost-effective as the prior generation of Kaiser Permanente template hospitals. The building houses diagnostic and treatment functions with three nursing towers situated above a two-story podium.
