Structural Engineering
Office
The structure consists of concrete filled metal deck supported by steel composite beams and columns. The lateral system consists of steel concentrically braced frames located around the stair and elevator core, with perimeter moment frames to help control drift and torsion. The structure was designed to accept loading from future pedestrian bridges at levels 2 through 4 to allow connectivity to additional buildings planned for the campus. The design and construction schedule for the project were extremely compressed. To accommodate this, the design team issued contract documents in multiple packages. This allowed the contractor to commence construction while much of the building was still in design.
