Rheingold Senior Residences

The Rheingold Senior Residences, located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, has been recognized as an NYSERDA Building of Excellence. KPFF is providing structural engineering services for this 94-unit, eight-story affordable housing development totaling 78,382-sf.

The mixed block-and-plank and steel structure supports a rooftop garden with a solar array structure and enables open architectural layouts with large windows and extensive curtain wall. The structural detailing at the building perimeter works to eliminate thermal bridging, in keeping with the project’s energy-efficient goals.
