Terminal 18/SSA Terminals Stormwater Treatment

KPFF, as lead Civil Engineer, designed and prepared construction documents for treating stormwater for Terminal 18, the 200-acre container terminal on Harbor Island. The stormwater treatment system was required to meet Department of Ecology’s Industrial Stormwater General Permit (ISGP) and was implemented over three phases from 2015 to 2020. Project responsibilities included site planning, industrial stormwater treatment system design, conveyance analysis and construction phasing to provide stormwater treatment of 15 separate stormwater basins using multiple treatment technologies. The project also provided downspout filter treatment for terminal building roofs.
