Port of Vancouver USA Maintenance Dredging

KPFF is currently lead engineer for the Port maintenance dredging and capital dredging programs for Berths 1 through 17, the Grain Terminal and the flushing channel. This work includes:

  • Civil, geotechnical and structural review of existing adjacent wharf structures to confirm appropriate dredge offsets from face of existing structural piling for dredging.
  • Pile Integrity Testing (PIT) testing to evaluate depth of existing timber piling suspected to have minimal embedment below existing mudline following previous dredging.
  • Existing slope stability and wharf structures analysis associated with berth deepening dredging.
  • Structural/geotechnical analysis coordination between KPFF and geotechnical engineer.

To date, this project included approximately 63,000 cubic yards of dredging performed as a subconsultant to prime consultant Floyd|Snider, who led environmental permitting due to the presence of contaminated sediments.
