KPFF completed design in partnership with SDOT engineers for this $24M pavement preservation project that included 325 ADA curb ramps, 2,000 feet of arterial restoration, and over 10 signal improvements designed by KPFF team members. KPFF led the design of the roadway and sidewalk rehabilitation that included arterial pavement reconstruction, sidewalk reconstruction, ADA upgrades, and drainage improvements. A significant number of ramps were designed to the maximum extent feasible with design deviations completed due to many existing challenges such as steep topography, limited ROW, and existing developed facilities. The project was delivered below budget and met a critical schedule window.
This was the largest Arterial Preservation project ever delivered by SDOT.
