Founded in 1994, the KPFF San Diego office provides a variety of services including structural engineering, civil engineering, and land surveying to the architectural, development, and construction industry throughout Southern California and across the US. Centrally located in Mission Valley, San Diego, our commitment to continued technical excellence and a client-focused approach supports projects from initial planning and entitlement through final design and construction, delivering coordinated solutions across all phases of development.

Structural Engineering
Our structural engineering team is the largest in San Diego and delivers innovative and efficient design solutions for a wide range of building types and construction systems. Our experience covers a broad portfolio of markets including multi-family residential, education, health care, life science, advanced manufacturing, and pedestrian bridges to name just a few. Services span from new building design to the renovation and rehabilitation of existing and historic structures. The office operates under the leadership of Eric Lehmkuhl, Shane Noel, Geoff Warcholik, Aaron Pebley, Steve Spence, Colin McDonald, Shaun Walters, Steve Merritt, Bryon Spicer, and Garrett Mifsud.

Civil Engineering
Our civil engineering group provides comprehensive site development and infrastructure design services. These range through a wide variety of project types such as Active Transportation Corridors, manufacturing campuses, education, health care, parks & recreation improvements and mixed-use urban infill as examples. Our design services can typically include: grading, drainage, utility design, paving and sustainability and green infrastructure improvements, along with agency coordination. From early feasibility through construction support, our team focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, and constructible solutions that support successful project delivery. The office operates under the leadership of Evan Lakin and Bao Tran Vo.

Land Surveying
Our land surveying team provides precise and reliable survey services supporting projects from pre-design through construction. Services include boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, construction staking, UAV/drone mapping, and laser scanning. Our team combines advanced technology with practical field experience to deliver accurate and dependable survey solutions that support successful project execution. The office operates under the leadership of Chris Jones and Chris Cheney.
