Federal Reserve Building

KPFF provided civil and structural engineering for the renovation and expansion of the Federal Reserve Bank in Seattle. The project includes a vertical expansion of seven new stories on top of seven existing stories, plus a horizontal expansion of 30 feet on the west. Once completed, the building will contain 190,000 SF of office space. The elements of the new structure are integrated into the existing structure and make use of the existing columns and foundations. The renovation also includes a complete seismic retrofit and modernization of the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and life safety systems.
