Lakewood Commuter Rail and Transit Center

KPFF served as prime consultant and civil and structural engineer for this $25 million new commuter rail station and major bus transit center serving three transit agencies. The station is comprised of a, 400-foot transit center, pedestrian plaza, commuter rail platform and 600-stall parking garage . The project was located on a major arterial, introducing several access and circulation challenges. The project included close coordination with City of Lakewood roadway project, storm water treatment train with infiltration, and modifications to major transmission lines adjacent to the site.
