Sitting on a massive 73-acre site, this new high school replaced an existing overcrowded facility. Capacity increased to 2400 students, keeping the community in one high school. At four and a half stories and 362,000 sf, it officially became the largest high school building in Oregon when it opened in 2021. In addition to new science and technology classrooms and multiple gymnasiums, the high school boasts a 600-seat performing arts center as well as a new football stadium complex and seven multipurpose sports fields.

KPFF coordinated with the design team to layout retaining walls as a series of terraces made of turf for students to enjoy and view the stadium below during events. Overall, the topography of the site provided many opportunities to play with elevations to marry the existing site topography, the numerous large athletic fields, and the main high school building itself. All the while civil managed to detail and grade a high-functioning stormwater system beneath it all.

A huge portion of the site is designed to accommodate fire access to what is otherwise one of the largest building footprints in the City of Sherwood. This includes an access road that runs along the east side of the building to the stadium. The project was designed to accommodate a future expansion.
