Envisioned by surfing legend Kelly Slater, Surf Ranch Lemoore is effectively a stadium for pro-surfing. Stretching over 2,000 feet in length, the wave basin offers consistent high quality waves creating a spectacle like no other. The dependability of a perfect wave overcomes a major obstacle in modern competitive surfing where the capricious ocean makes it impossible to broadcast live television feeds. To date Surf Ranch Lemoore has hosted several events, and expects many more in the future. KPFF provided civil and structural engineering services for the design and construction of the wave basin. Civil engineering services included specification of the grading and paving within the perimeter of the wave basin. Structural engineering services included analysis and design of the perimeter walls, stairs, boat ramp, and miscellaneous structures. KPFF worked with WSLWC extensively to develop cost effective solutions and accommodate a compressed schedule.
