Background
For more than a decade, Ian has worked on a variety of projects, from seismic upgrades of historic structures to complex and eye-catching new athletic facilities. When Ian gets involved in a project, clients know they are getting 110% of his engineering prowess as well as an extremely positive "can do" outlook. Prior to joining KPFF's Portland office in 2006, he worked in the firm's Seattle office for three years. Ian was the design engineer on the Portland Galleria Rehabilitation, where he utilized fluid viscous dampers to seismically reinforce the historic structure while providing flexible spaces for programming. Currently, he is leading much of the office’s curtain wall work for many high-rise structures throughout the U.S., overseeing the integration of structural design with complex connection detailing.
