Background

In recent years Jack's work has focused on designing with heavy timber building materials including Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), Glued-Laminated Timber, and Mass Plywood. Jack enjoys collaborating with architects throughout the design process to create efficient and attractive building structures. Some of his recent projects in the Portland area include The Nature Conservancy HQ, and Adidas’ North American Headquarters expansion. He was also the lead engineer for the Catalyst building located in Spokane, WA — the first building of its kind to utilize CLT shear wall cores and steel BRB ductile holddowns.
