Background

Dr. Del Carpio leads several performance-based design projects under several jurisdictions including HCAI (OSHPD) and DSA. During his 6 year tenure researching and teaching at SUNY Buffalo, Dr. Del Carpio taught courses on Structural Engineering and Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures. He participated in the NSF Career award winning research project “Hybrid Simulation Platform for Seismic Performance Evaluation of Structures Through Collapse.” He has published several technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences on the topic of seismic performance and advanced analysis methodologies. Dr. Del Carpio also participated as an analysis consultant in the development of FEMA guidelines for the Seismic Evaluation and Retrofit of Multi-Unit Wood-Frame Building with Weak First Stories (FEMA P-807 Report).
